I recommend booking your senior pictures several months in advance, especially if you’re hoping for a summer or fall session. September and October evenings are especially popular and tend to fill quickly. Booking early also gives us plenty of time to plan locations, outfits, and all the details that will make your session feel personal.

There really isn’t one “best” season. It depends on the look you want! Late summer offers lush greenery, wildflowers, and warm golden evenings, while fall brings beautiful colors and cooler temperatures. Spring is also a beautiful and often overlooked time for senior pictures. Fresh greenery, flowering trees, spring blooms, and softer colors create a bright, fresh look, and it’s perfect for seniors who want their photos closer to graduation. Spring sessions can also pair perfectly with a Cap & Gown Mini Session to capture the final chapter of senior year. I photograph seniors throughout the year, and I’ll help you choose the timing that best fits the look and feel you envision for your senior portraits.

I photograph senior sessions throughout Elgin and the Chicago suburbs at a variety of outdoor and urban locations. Some favorites include Fabyan Forest Preserve in Geneva, Leroy Oakes Forest Preserve in St. Charles, Mallard Lake in Hanover Park, downtown West Dundee, downtown St. Charles, downtown Geneva, and Lighthouse Beach in Evanston. I’ll help you choose a location that complements your senior’s personality, outfits, and overall vision.

The number of outfits depends on the senior experience you choose. I recommend bringing outfits that show different sides of your personality…something casual, something a little more polished, and an outfit that feels completely like you. Once you’re booked, I’ll help you plan your wardrobe so your outfits photograph beautifully and work well with your chosen location.

Illinois weather can be unpredictable, so I keep a close eye on the forecast leading up to every outdoor senior session. If heavy rain, storms, or other unsafe weather will interfere with your session, we’ll reschedule for another available date. I don’t automatically reschedule for a cloudy forecast. Overcast skies can actually create beautiful, flattering light for portraits.

Absolutely. Senior pictures aren’t just for girls! I photograph senior guys throughout Elgin and the Chicago suburbs and keep their sessions relaxed, natural, and comfortable. We’ll incorporate locations, outfits, sports, hobbies, or other interests that help make the photos feel like them rather than overly posed.

Yes! I love incorporating the things that are important to your senior. Sports equipment, musical instruments, pets, cars, hobbies, uniforms, and other meaningful details can make senior pictures much more personal. We’ll talk about these ideas before your session so we can plan the best way to incorporate them.

Yes! Family photos are welcome with the Signature and Heirloom Senior Experiences. While your senior will remain the focus of the session, we can take a few photos with parents, siblings, or the whole family. Senior year is a milestone for everyone, and it’s a great opportunity to capture a few updated family portraits along the way.

Your fully edited online gallery will be delivered within 2–3 weeks of your session.
